Lance, here I come!

I got a new bike for my birthday! I went riding the other day and remembered:

1. The time I kept riding down the hill on our street with no hands to impress a cute guy that was over (one of my big brother's friends). Something about being able to ride with no hands made me absolutely confident that he'd fall in love with me!

2. Learning to ride on my Strawberry Shortcake bike. I begged to have the training wheels removed. It took many tries and as soon as I got the hang of it, the chain fell off. It was an early lesson on "DON'T GIVE UP" although I didn't come up with an analogy for that story until many years later. :)

Well, this time around was different...or very similar now that I think of it. Wearing the helmet, gloves, spandex (that's right, the kind with padding on the backside!) made me feel like I was a pro. As I was climbing this crazy hill, a group of neighbors (it was National Night Out) started cheering for me...."You can do it! You can do it!" and I imagined I was Lance Armstrong. My ego says to me, "just the leave the story right there" but I must be honest and say the crazy hill was more like a bump and the people were definitely mocking me! Part of me wanted to turn around and ride down the hill and impress them with my 'no hands trick'......instead, I said "thanks", almost lost my balance at the top and then rode off into the sunset on my Strawberry Shortcake bike. :)

What's in a name?

In 7th grade, this kid started saying, "Hey, Erin your head". Funny thing was, it didn't make sense to me at first. "What about my head?" I'd think.

After years of therapy, I've come to accept that all the air-in-my-head is 100% natural...no preservatives, no artificial flavors or colors....That's right folks, I grew it myself! :)
